Was out today and got a load ,threw em into the embers and scoffed em.
Watch out because sometimes they explode in the coals.
Again they were sorta small this year but different trees have different sized nuts.

Chestnut blight killed most of the chestnut trees here in the USofA. Dagnabit! I love chestnuts. Roasted, boiled or raw. Good stuff. I remember the first time I roasted chestnuts. Forgot to poke holes in them. They sounded like mini grenades going off in the oven. Whoeeeeeeeee

Great vid Mark! You made me hungry :)
5/5........Got a question? I collect nuts from the oak tree cook them and they are also delicious. But if eaten raw without cooking them they are very poisonous! Is it the same for the Chestnut?

Cheers Mike, the chestnuts are edible raw or cooked, i find them a little dry sometimes when raw and much prefer them roasted in the embers of a fire
