A Life for a Life" is based on events surrounding the trail and conviction of Stefan Kiszko (Tony Maudsley), one of the most tragic miscarriages of justice in recent years. In 1976, Kiszko was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 11-year-old Lesley Molseed, who was knifed to death and left on the bleak Pennine moors. Kiszko's mother, Charlotte (Olympia Dukakis) campaigned tirelessly for his release but her son was to serve sixteen years before evidence that had been supressed at his trial was brought to light. It was conclusive proof he could not have committed the crime. Kiszko's is a compelling story of human tragedy; he was an awkward uncommunicative figure from a sheltered background who confessed to the mirder only after being told he could return home to his mother if he did so. In truth, it was his confession that was the sole evidence against him...

  • Thank you for uploading this. I found it very moving.

  • Well done to Olympia Dukakis and Tony Maudsley for their portrayal of the two main characters in this story. Everyone else involved should hang their heads in shame including his defense team and the police. Shame on all involved. What a Mother!

  • The police involved in this case should be fuckin'ashamed of themselves, they stitched Stefan up, they should have been brought to justice

  • What a tower of strength Frau Kiszko was!! At least her Stefan died a free man in the back of an ambulance in her arms and not in some miserable prison cell. She showed all who see this the meaning of the word LOVE, and made me an opponent of the death penalty. So, rest in peace, Lesley, Stefan - and Charlotte - and rise to Glory!!!

  • @Kevinasp They lied because it was "funny".. they should do 16 years in prison to see how funny it is... why the fuck haven't they been arrested.. for perjury, perverting the course of justice and indirectly aiding and abetting an offender, because they are guilty of all three.

  • Thanks to hers and her friends lies, an innocent man lost his mind and did 16 years in prison for something he didn't do and didn't know anything about. Their lies helped to send an innocent man to an early grave. They refused to apologise to Kiszko when he was released. Thanks to their lies, Castree walked free for another 30 years. They should have been arrested and charged with perjury and perverting the court of justice. Their lies indirectly helped Castree. They have to live with all this.

  • Thank god for his lawyer!! ..and his mom,,

Thanks SO MUCH for sharing this moving and heart touching film of injustice sweetie!!!...

  • I never heard of this film but it was a great flick. Maudsley & Dukakis were superb. Thanks for uploading.
