HSH Albert II is the Sovereign Prince of Monaco. He was born in 1958, the second child and only son of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace of Monaco. Educated in the United States her served a tour in the French navy and became involved in numerous sports and a strong supporter of the Olympics. He acted as regent for his father during the final days of his life and upon his death in 2005 became the Sovereign Prince of Monaco. He has spent most of his reign trying to encourage investment and the relocation of the wealthy to Monaco as well as speaking out frequently on environmental issues. He has two illegitimate children; a daughter and a son but in the absence of any legitimate issue will be succeeded by his elder sister HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover.
