  • Nikon AF 85mm F1.8D Autofocus Lens. How do you read this lens? Does 85mm means you cannot zoom in & zoom out?

  • What happen and the disadvantages if I use Sigma lens onto Nikon D90?

  • @fireblade1247 If you're going to use a sigma, make sure it's a nikon mount, they make mounts for a lot of brands. However, sigma and other 3rd party brands are generally of lesser quality than nikons.

    Bridge great explanation of the lettering system: The terminology word you're referring to is called "nomenclature"

    AF-D is a bit older in technology, a CPU for determining the distance of the focal point. AF-S uses the AF-D technology but incoproates the "Silent Wave" ultrasonic motor.
