Green Lantern: First Flight

I felt that First Flight made being a GL feel a little too banal. He gets the most powerful and wondrous weapon in the Universe from billion-year old gods, yet this feels like a cop flick.

Remember how Star Wars made becoming a Jedi seems so fantastic? And yet all a Jedi has is a sword that can cut through anything and some minor psychic powers.

well. it probably feels like a cop flick because the lanterns are basically the police of the universe. and this is not star wars. in fact green lantern has been around long before lucas ever thought of star wars

The original GL's (Alan Scott and Hal Jordan) were white. Two other GL's were chosen as replacements for Hal Jordan (in the 70's) in case something went wrong, Guy Gardner and John Stewart. The JL animated series used John Stewart because they needed to add a black character just as they used Hawkgirl (without Hawkman) to add more women to the group.

i dont realy count alan scott as a real lantern,, but as for the other ones,, the lil mask is stupid, i hope they dont put that in the movie,, becouse that lil ass mask over the eyes, would not trick anyone for identy,, its only covering around ther eyes...

why is hal jordan the only lantern who wears that lil mask over his eyes ?

The original Green Lantern (1940's), Alan Scott, wore a mask. When Green Lantern was done for the 60's Hal wore a mask to protect his identity. John Stewart and Guy Gardner originally wore masks, but later stopped feeling it wasn't necessary. Kyle Rayner, the current Lantern, still wears one. Even some of the otherworld Lanterns wear masks.
