Cass and Frankie 1992--Never on Another Side But Yours

This scene is a prime example of Cass and Frankie at their "Cass and Frankie-est." :-)

Frankie is just finishing up a phone call regarding Kelsey's case when Cass comes downstairs and wants to know who she was talking to. She says she was calling for the time. Cass asks Frankie since when does she thank a recorded voice for their help? The doorbell rings, and there is a banter-filled race and debate as to who will answer the door, since both Cass and Frankie are expecting packages. Frankie gets the door and the package, but Cass gets the package away from Frankie when he fakes a back cramp. Frankie then points out that her name is on the package. Cass returns it and apologizes to Frankie. Frankie then shows Cass the package with his name on it, which arrived while he was in the shower. He asks her when she planned on giving it to him, and she says when he apologizes for not believing the package that just arrived was for her. She assures Cass she didn't peek. When Cass reminds her that withholding somebody's mail is a federal offense, Frankie replies that she was willing to take her chances, and then hands the package over to Cass. "You show me yours and I'll show you mine," Frankie says.

"Not on your life," Cass replies.

When Frankie asks if it's about Kelsey, Cass pleads the Fifth. Frankie tells Cass that's okay, she'll show him hers anyway, and she insists he open it. It's information on catering halls for their wedding. Cass can't believe that with everything that's going on, Frankie can still find time to plan their wedding. Frankie replies that she knows what's important to her. Cass tells her what a wonderful woman she is and they hug and exchange kisses on the cheek. While in each other's arms, Frankie says she can't wait until this hearing is over. "Oh, baby, you and me both," Cass replies.

"And the minute it IS over," Frankie says, "I don't ever want to be on another side but yours."

Cass is kissing Frankie's cheek again when Frankie suddenly remembers that it's Election Day and asks Cass if he remembered to vote. She steps out of his arms and he says he'll vote later. Frankie tells him not to forget. Then she asks him if he's spoken to Felicia about their wedding yet. Cass hasn't, because he's afraid it might be too soon to ask Felicia to be his best man, or rather best woman, again. Frankie says they could postpone the wedding until Felicia is ready, but Cass says that isn't fair to them. Frankie asks what they should do, and Cass replies that he wishes he knew. Then he asks Frankie if there are any new developments in the maid of honor search, and if Frankie decides to have Ryan as her maid of honor, they'll end up Ripley's Believe It or Not. Frankie says it's not Ryan, but that's a very good idea and she'll have to consider that. She reminds Cass that they had started talking about this. Cass asks if Frankie still has heart set on her long-lost sidekick; in a word, yes, Frankie tells him, and says that she needs him to be flexible on this and asks if he thinks he can be. Frankie is looking astonishingly beautiful in these scenes and her hair is magnificent. Cass looks dashingly handsome there too. I love these two.
