What a Beast!
So, what sort of applications do you run on this unit?
And, how are you able to keep this thing cool??

My Origin 3200 has roughly the same specifications (in terms of the types of hardware), only 8 CPUs, 8 GB of RAM and 118 GB of FC storage. Nice video by the way!

is it really that quite or have you fiddled with the sound levels in the video

@bigalsenior It's actually pretty quiet. Even in an unfinished basement with a bit of an echo. The fans have a low pitch sound to them, unlike a 1U rackmount size server with small shrieking high pitched fans.

I've got 4 more racks in my garage, and eventually a second rack will be brought downstairs and reassembled. That will bump it to 64 CPU's, 64GB. And then after that a third rack will be brought down and left empty until I can find a good deal on a G-Brick and transform it into an Onyx3800.

I guess I should check my YouTube account more often. :) It's mostly used for rendering frames in Maya 6.5/Mental Ray. I'll usually open up 4-6 instances of Maya and render blocks of frames at a time until all CPU's are being used. As far as keeping it cool... It's in my basement, which stays cool pretty much all year round. Even in the summer. Plus it has ~30 fans on the front of it, which move a lot of air.
