One of the most popular songs coming at the end of WW2 was this one composed by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn. The song was first a hit for Harry James & His Orchestra with Kitty Kallen doing the vocal. On December 8, 1945, Bing Crosby accompanied by Les Paul and his Trio overtook Harry James' recording of the same song, and Bing and Les went to #1. The song has since become a standard recorded by many.

  • Les Paul lived a long time and will live forever with recordings like this to remind us of his talents. Bing Crosby keeps on giving too, thanks to him Pirates fans can relive great memories from a long time ago. And thanks to Nocaro for giving us this video, it too will be played for a long, long time.

  • @devilzubin Bing Crosby will always have more popularity that today's stars have. Good grief, I think Crosby had over 300 top 40 hits during his lifetime.

  • @themonaghans One is enough for me. Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Picasso,Yul Brinner had sons that wrote lousy on their parents after their death , and I believe them.

  • @metacosmos Actually, that was just one son out of his seven children. The other children all deny it. In fact , that son later recanted it. Three of Bing's children are still alive and remember him lovingly as a wonderful, attentive father. I just saw his son, Harry, and his daughter, Mary, at a performance by their mother (Bing's wife of 20 years) in NYC.

  • A sorrow that Bing Crosby which such a beautiful voice were a bad , violent father according to his sons.

  • I'm 16 and i love this song :)

  • Köszönöm a feltöltést <:o)

  • This is one song that I wanted to play on the guitar. Unfortunately, I can't read music and the strings cut my fingers so it was difficult to play. This was back in the day of the acoustical guitar (non-electric). We had this song on a collection of Bing's hits called "Bing." It was autobiographical with him introducing each song. While the other kids were digging, I was hopelessly square and digging Bing. Still sound like him when I'm in the shower.

  • @sagarvk You probably wouldn't have really enjoyed it, it was towards the end of WW2, millions died, food was rationed in cities, there was misery...
