He chopped the fingertip off the guy he was talking to, not himself, just sayin'.

noticed mark heap on 321 on challange TV the other day, he was juggling hoops and smiling a lot and pretending to be annoyed with his sidekick when he wasn't. His eyes are massive

This is very well written comedy. Besides the outstanding acting, the attention to structure and character is flawless. The finger amputation isn't a random thing at all- it looks like an episode of severe self-mutilation, brought on by psychotic decompensation. Shows just how mentally unwell and out of touch with reality the person next to you can be, however normal they appear. A lot of good comedy has a very dark side!

@asilaydyingdg Thanks for that :) Yeah, they're both English/British actresses (they're two of the regular female cast in the rest of the sketches) so their accents are probably a bit odd.

@EccentricRichard Oh my. If you were in your 60s - 70s, I might've just smiled, nodded and put it down age and reminiscing the good ol' days. But what I see is a 19yr old commenting on a clip, which doesn't live up to his expectations of "humour" so therefore must be crap. Heaven forbid that it's just not your style of entertainment. What the BBC should've done was put in some death metal in the background and speed up this clip to make them sound like chipmunks. Here's hoping you were joshing.

I dont think the BBC would change the audio on a ten year old show purely for your benifit, worth asking I suppose
