if there was a CCTV camera the footage would of been spectacular, and i do find he locos name a little ironic
-
@TheMichaelWilcock better he broke his leg rather than died!
-
I bet EWS wasn't too pleased about that as these locomotives were brand new at the time.
-
its amazing what you can fitt in a hopper these days.
-
another fine mess :P how the driver got out of that one without being hurt i don't know good job it was a brand new train with all the highest safety system but it couldn't of been that good if it crashed into the back of a freight train

wonder if they would have repaired it if it was a 47???

I was at Newport Docks a few weeks later when 2 more cabs were delivered with the next batch of locos. it's quite amazing that the loco " jumped up " onto the last wagon considering their profile and also the fact the loco didn't fall onto the platform. Have you seen my vid. of the derailment at Cardiff ?

I beleive the driver broke his leg jumping out. Also the brakes were not functioning down the bank from Patchway

i also believe the train was very late at Patchway and maybe errors were made there too. Very lucky the platforms weren't full and the 67 didn't tip over

I also believe the driver broke his leg jumping from the cab. There was a problem with the brakes as you'll note that another 67 is on the rear, so it should have stopped in time ?
