Lissy the day After ACL surgery using the CPM machine.

I had ACL reconstruction using a graft from my patellar tendon. I had a nerve block to numb my leg, which I don't think wore off at this point. The CPM machine, physical therapy, and blogging were essential components that aided my recovery.

Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) is a postoperative treatment method that is designed to aid recovery after joint surgery. In most patients after extensive joint surgery, attempts at joint motion cause pain and as a result, the patient fails to move the joint. This allows the tissue around the joint to become stiff and for scar tissue to form resulting in a joint which has limited range of motion and often may take months of physical therapy to recovery that motion. uh... i'm not sure you were supposed to have your immobilizer on while using the CPM

@dand100 It was unlocked so it could bend during the CPM use. You probably can't tell because it was set at such a low degree.

I had ACL surgery twice. The second one also involved my meniscus being repaired as well.

I had ACL surgery 11 months ago but because I had both sides of my meniscus repaired as well I wasnt allowed to bend my knee at all for the first 3 day and then I was at 30 and for the first 6 weeks couldnt go past 90.

i didnt even have the cm machine !!!!!

its funny....i just got my entire knee realigned and i have to do that as well. but they dont allow me to do it in my brace
