My walk around Reservoir Hill in Baltimore

Reservoir Hill is a neighborhood filled with irreplaceable and incredible housing stock. The neighborhood has been in decline for decades and in recent years neighbors have been working very hard to bring it back to its former glory. Various drug dealers, poverty pimps, failed government plans, welfare cheats, corrupt developers, and bought politicians have not helped the situation at all. This tour gives an insiders view of some of the rougher parts of the neighborhood- Whitelock, Callow, the drug corner near the elementary school, and Lakeview Towers. The Baltimore Hourly online newspaper will bring you insider videos and stories like this one that are not afraid to name names and reveal the truth about Baltimore. It is really sad to see such beautifully designed old rowhomes crumbling away to the point of seeing daylight through the third floor windows where the roof used to be. I do blame slumlords for a lot of residential urban decay, squeezing as much profit out of a property and not putting anymore back into it, to the point the once nice home is no longer fit for habitation and gets boarded up to rot away as many here are doing. Sad...very sad...

Wow, really ive never looked at it this way! I guess being black and living in Baltimore all my life we tend to get used to this way of living or we just think its a lost cause at this point. But this does give u something to think about! Especially coming frm a diffent prospective.
