Dr. Donald Fischer, Chief Medical Officer at Highmark Inc., describes Highmark's how worksite wellness programs have proved successful for customers. A Highmark study in the March/April 2011 edition of the American Journal of Health Promotion found that when employers consistently offered a wellness program to their employees health care costs rose at a 15 percent slower rate among wellness participants.
