La Maribelle, a canarie from the Hender Robarts' Lute Book (1654-68). Played on a 11crs Lute based on Hans Frei with a Indian Rosewood back and Black Walnut neck and pegbox. This book in facsimile is by Boethius Press,Ireland. the Original was found in a drawer in Lanhydrock House in Cornwall in April 1973. Lanhydrock is a National Trust Property now. The book is a good example of French Baroque lute music from the 1640s and 1650's and it's popularity in England, intially due to Henrietta Maria, Charles' wife.
