The swing of golfing great Bobby Jones. His accent is how native Atlantans used to talk in the first half of the 20th century.

  • The penultimate golfer and gentleman. Golf was an expression of who he was, which is why he never felt at his being that he had to turn pro. As an "amateur" he represented the highest ideals of the game. It wasn't about the money or the fame. It was about putting your best effort into a round and enjoying the company you golfed with.

  • Jones certainly had the most fluid, flowing golf swing I've ever seen. Can you imagine being able to swing like that? He was also smart as hell - an engineering degree from tech and passed the bar after studying

law for only one year at Harvard. Certainly the most intelligent famous golfer of all time.

  • His accent is how ANY Georgian speaks, if they are educated, and not from the hills (no offense - hill folk have a different, more Appalachian accent). I left GA in 1994 to move to DC, and although I think I sound like a Yankee, most folks will ask me what part of the South I am from.

  • Jones retired 'early' due to the immense pressure he subjected himself to throughout his playing days which was taking a toll on his health. He was also a practicing attorney.

  • lmao and he was a weekend golfer..

  • Ramblin' Wreck nation! Bobby Jones, the best ever!

  • he seemed very smart and adapted very well to a shaft that had a very high flex.

  • thanks, God!
