  • I've heard that many times. I would not comment though since I never met him personally. If anyone should have an ego it's him. WRW is the best of all time. If you don't see it your blind. No bowler from any previous era could have made the changes and incorporate the versatility he has over the last 25 years. He's a true legend. He should be cherished not bashed.

  • I played a 299 today...and leaving the 1-pin at the last shot :P

  • I bowled a 298 Thursday night in league. The 12th shot was probably the worst executed shot of my life.

  • That's probably true but more because he doesn't miss the pocket not lack of strike ball. IMO WRW is the best of all time and it's not even close. I have a telecast from 2000 I will upload where WRW is outhooking Hoskins, and Shafer. WRW goes with the percentages and can actually hit 1 or 2 boards. That's why he will play straight more than hook it. However he can and has done it all. When you watch him you are watching history. Just like watching Tiger.

  • I met him at the 2008 World Men`s Championships and he was really nice... at least to me. Calm, polite, friendly, talkative etc.

That was the only time I`ve ever seen him in person but quite honestly, I can´t imagine him as an "arrogant prick". Maybe only when he truly is upset.

  • @BowlingDiseased lol tiger....

  • @BowlingDiseased My friend who builds computers met him a few year ago. Walter's laptop went down. my freind told walter that he was one of my favorite bowlers on the tour. I got an autographed pic of walter!!!

  • @ffsuperfreak to be honest I can't remember, it was at least a couple years ago--they had him and lynda hosting a clinic. But no, I completely understood what he was saying, it was just that you could tell that he had no interest in being there. Lynda was helping people and stuff like that, whereas chris was standing in the back, talking to columbia ball reps the whole time. You could just tell that he was only there because they were paying him to be there.

  • @bstnrdsxfrk sean and mika are pretty good guys. they're funny. when u met chris what did u talk about or say? cuz i think he could sound arrogant if u dont understand what hes sayin lol...idk...

  • @ffsuperfreak hmm that's interesting. When I met him, he was pretty arrogant, and I've heard the same from everyone else that's met him.

By far the most friendly of the "big-time" pros that I've met are sean rash and mika koivuniemi.

  • @bstnrdsxfrk actually chris barnes is a pretty decent guy lol. spent 2 hours talking to him about bowling in dublin last year and i had only met him about 15 minutes earlier.

  • @ffsuperfreak

He certainly can't be any worse than chris barnes. THAT guy is just downright unfriendly. Lynda barnes is extremely nice, though.

  • Wii?

  • Never met WRW, JR...you can argue who is better between Earl and Walter all you want, but understand one thing, based on my many viewing of bowling telecasts...they both had one particular line they dominated when that line was THE LINE to play. No one plays the outside better than Walter on the right, and Earl on the left. Put them on a condition inside the 10-board and they won't make the TV show.

  • @KingB0wser Walter Ray is awesome, but picking up the big 4 is luck just like the 7-10 split.
