To me, Eminent 310 sounds really warmer than ARP Solina, which has a more "strident" sound. I can't compare since I only own a 310 Standard, but even when I didn't own one, I like the Eminent 310 string ensemble way much than ARP Solina.

There's nothing like Eminent 310 string ensembles ^^

Nota : ensemble boards, in Eminent 310, are cross-connected (not in ARP Solina). This yells a more organic sound.

@StudioR7 For me owning both? The Solina has that special sound you can not copy with any sample program due to the Chorus thing inside.(Modulation)

The Eminent 310 Theater Unique? Yes it has all those Jean Michel sounds.. for real :)

Both are from the same factory. And both sound simular but different.

@StudioR7 The eminent 310 has huge speakers and that is what you hear on this vid.

The Arp Solina is just a plugin in a simple guitar/bass amp. I think and know the Solina has the best use-able String sound. The 310 Unique doesn't have that special sound.

And believe me I tried all options on the 310. That is why I bought the Arp Soline and it payed off.

@ProbTron Some love Eminent's string ensemble, other ones ARP Solina's, and other ones Elka Rhapsody's or Logan String Melody's...

I guess it's just a matter of personal taste :)

@StudioR7 I like the string sound in the Solina. The Eminent 310 does not have that specific sound. Although Ilike my 310 :) But it does not have that sound. That's why I bought the Arp Thing.

You probably know Albert Steenbergen, the man in Netherlands who restores Eminent 310 organs.

According to him, if you take the Eminent 310 string ensemble output before the amplifier and send it trough a mixer, for instance, it's the same sound as ARP Solina's.

String ensembles are not tuned the same way in ARP Solina and Eminent 310, though, but it's possible to "tweak" ensemble boards to get that particular sound you like :)

Anyway... both sound good and are unbeatable ^^
