Kaen (flame) shuriken

I use bo shuriken for this little experiment. Usually hira shuriken were used as kashaken, but that seems even more dangerous than this...so I wasn't ready to try that yet, maybe I'll do it in the future.

DON'T do this at home, I'm know what I'm doing, I took every precaution I could, I was very careful while throwing.

I used the longest shirai ryu I have, 25 cm, 6mm thick. First I throw with half spin, then with no spin in direct hit.

The flame was pretty big and it takes about 2-3 mins to stop burning, I can imagine that it would be a horrible weapon in the middle ages when people had wooden houses.

This wood is wet, so it wouldn't burn that easily.

I won't tell how I made the torch as some people may misuse this information.

At the end I was about to throw 4 shuriken in no spin, but there was too much wind and the fuel started leaking on my hands, making the throwing very hard and dangerous. I was forced to stop because of this.

I kinda loved using these fire shuriken, I'm pretty sure I'll make a second vid during the summer. I just have to redo this!, it's so sweet!

But next time I'm going to try throwing some fire stars.

Sounds pretty dangerous lol, I don't think I'm able to do that in big scale, but I'm sure I can do it in a smaller scale. It's actually a nice idea to see how destructive these would have been centuries ago.
