  • And there is no reason these laser machines should cast $10,000 a pop. They are the exact same as the old monocrome printers, minus the ribons, minus the paper feeder, and with a $20 laser. Tops this system should run $100. Sad how some companies are raping the people in this country.

  • @K0gashuk0

I see, that you are a real expert in lasers. probably you work in R&D or sales at a big laser company...

can you explain people here, which $20 laser can engrave aluminum on an ipod?!? with the laserpointer you have it won't make more than a small red pointer, what goes away, when you turn it off...

you will need instead of the 5MW about 100 times more power on the laser. and you might consider a Nd-YAG instead of CO2 laser for engraving small fonts on ipods.

    enjoy dreaming!

  • hey laserfreak2009 is this speedy 300??

  • @maciekbeny

yep - this was done on a SP300.

  • will u engrave my ipod?

  • @mrteddy714

  • i want this machine .. where i can find one? im from kuwait

  • Disisanano

  • @nickt916 one of these costs about 30000 €.

No, this won't do any designs, you'll have to make the designs using CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator.

The engraving surface of this machine is 17 x 29 inch which is way bigger than you need (4 x 8).

This is a CO2 engraving machine, so if you want to engrave metal it must be painted or anodized in order to succeed or by coating the metal with a special chemical but that's not always working.

If you want to engrave on metal you'll need a YAG laser machine

  • @laserfreak2009 i agree some what...

K0gashuk is right... Laser printers now a days are WAY over priced...

may be your software and its auto focus capabilities are whats worth the big cash.... or may be the high speed servos for the printer...

i deal with high speed CIJ and CO2 Laser Printers both for the manufacturing industry...

and i have to say... its hard to sell a laser printer man... so again, i have to agree with K0gashuk

i only sell laser printers with blue tubes for PET bottles

  • How much do one of these cost? Can it do any designs? I'm trying to find something not big to engrave designs and words on metal objects not bigger than 4"x8" any suggestions or advice please?

  • What settings did you use our school has a speedy 100 i believe?

  • @haimaphil dammit i was just joking
