  • Had the pleasure of listening to this Tribute band @ the Virginia Theater, Champaign, IL. An extremely enjoyable evening of big band tunes the way they were played back in the day. After every tune, the leader shook hands with the piano player & thanked him....he didn't play in hardly any of the songs. What a running gag.

  • @vincentfromia You know, I never asked him where he managed to find it. I'm sure it is hard to find though, seeing as it's hard to even find a decent video of it over all of youtube haha. It took me a little bit to find this one. Sorry I couldn't be more help finding the arrangement. Thank you for the compliment by the way!

  • @bthrun90 Wow! Yeah, Ziggy Elman was some trumpeter to have follow. His And the Angels Sing Where is another fun part to play. Where did your HS band find the arrangement? I've been looking for it for my band and can only find the Spud Murphy arrangement.

BTW Nice job on your Carnival of Venice solo BTW!

  • I had the trumpet solo break my senior year of high school. that's one of the hardest solos I've ever had to pull off!

  • OH MY GOSH!!! I havent seen the Dorsey band in years. They sounded great!I would love to play drums for that band to honor Tommy Dorsey Band. They are the Legends of Jazz greats.

  • das ist dermassen göttlich! toll! klasse! wunderbar!

  • It's great to see folks dancing, and it's wonderful to hear some guys play these old warhorses. Thanks for posting this lively (sic!) video!

    Brew, from Germany

  • The tune was a favorite of mine when I was growing up. Great to hear it after all these years. Nostalgic also.
