Peake No. 2 Steam Engine running off a gas fired Stuart 501 boiler.
This engine is #3 of 25 (only 23 were available for sale)
The following is taken from http://peake-engines.com/ (Ben Peake's website):
Peake No. 2 is a single acting "upside down" steam engine. It is the first of the Peake Engines to have a cast 'S' spoked flywheel. The main body is also a casting, resulting in a relatively large overall weight. Thus the engine is quite stable and does not need to be clamped down whilst running. The oiler supplies lubrication to the crankshaft to optimize performance. The engine is reversible and the timing of the valve is adjustable, allowing the user to change the direction in which the engine runs. Peake No. 2 is supplied with a pulley for those who might like to put it to use.
