Loved the vid! im just about to do this to a cbr400rrl nc29, could you give me some details on the paints that you used and what you used to degrease/clean the frame and engine?
Carcass32 2 weeks ago
@Carcass32 Thanks. The frame etc where all professionally powder coated which despite the cost I recommend as any sprayed or brushed paint isn't going to be tough enough or a very good finish. For the smaller bits that I wanted a satin (not glossy finish) I used Hammerite Smooth Satin Black Spray, Plasticote BBQ matt black for the disc rotors and something called Competition Black for the few bits I wanted a glossy black. More details on honda-forums com in Restores section pg3

Those pipes look amazing! Where did you get them Acid treated?

@BikerGuy95 Did you watch the full vid? I treated them myself with some Avesta pickling gel a mate got hold for me then used wirewheel and autosol to finish off.
I've since tried some of that hammerite rust beater joe public can buy and its crap in comparison, no strength compared to the industrial stuff which I guess you might be able to buy from a metal merchants but not 100% sure

hi i am new to bike here i am about to buy a bike which is the same as yours but in singapore the bike you post from video name after RVF but yours name after VFR may i know what is the different
taiwanlong 3 months ago
@taiwanlong The RVF was the replacement to the VFR, very similar in most respects but you get upside down forks and a more upto date (early 1990's) style fairing with flush headlight. Otherwise a few tweaks here and there but in general the same but nicer.
