There is no reason to go steeper than 38 degrees . The spoil toe would reach you before you were anywhere near out of spoil room !!!!!! Marion and BE are correct.

Is it just me or is it that P&H booms are at steeper angles then marion or bucyrus?
Yes they are - the bucket seems to be in your face the whole way up the pile.
