I'm glad you said we there because you didn't provide an explanation how either LOL
The sad truth is, when it comes to elections these days, you vote for the person you hate less. For me it happened to be Obama. I feel some regret, but it could be worse with McCain.
McCain was all about tax relief for the wealthy, hopeful it would trickle down to the middle and poor class somehow. He's for big business, and it's big business that fucked our country up.
And if you ever actually stay current with his changes and plans, you might understand that his SOCIALIST plans for almost every aspect of the american economy is far closer to communism than democracy
I think it's you who doesn't understand...communism isn't the opposite of a democracy. A communist society can still be democratic...but that's irrelevant. To say that Obama is moving towards communism is ludicrous. The things that are socialist about our government(public schools, medicare) I don't think you'd do without...Obama has in no way moved towards communism
There are many socialist aspects of our society that many seem to not understand. People complain about Obama moving our country towards socialism, but what do you call the police & fire department, education system, and even public transportation? Not to mention the regulatory groups that make sure utility companies remain fair.
9/12 protesters complained about the metro being crowded. How ironic is that when they are there protesting spending, and the lack of cars was from budget cuts!?
You sound informed and rational thinker, Lory. I agree that we were screwed either way, but the question becomes "why? Because they are both puppets? To who? I wish more knew the answer. Moreover, we do not understand that 70% of our GDP goes to socialist/wealth redistribution, so we already are a socialist country and have been for some time. Where we are headed is far worse.
