Me (Lee Paxton) filming and discussing the old Coraopolis Train Station in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, on Saturday May 21, 2011. It was built in 1895 by the well-known architectural firm Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge. Today it is in sorry shape, and I think it's a damn shame. This building should be saved and preserved! It can be a real asset to the community instead of an eyesore. It should be a symbol of civic pride! If you are a resident of Coraopolis, PA, and/or are interested in helping save this historic railroad station, please contact the borough with the information available at http://www.coraopolispa.com/ . Contact every councilman as well as the mayor, Anthony Celeste. He grew up just down the road from this train station, and he should want to help save it. Also, contact Sam Jampetro of the Coraopolis Community Development Foundation, a non-profit organization. I think this organization may actually own the building and is supposed to be trying to do something to help save it. But, I don't think they have much money. Well, I have e-mailed the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, and I hope that they can help out with some information and maybe something else also. I think this station should be saved. That is why I'm basically becoming a muckraking journalist/filmmaker here and trying to help expose what I call "The Disgrace of Coraopolis". If you have any information that may be useful in regards to helping save this train station, be sure to contact the previously mentioned folks and me too (so that I can try to help pass this information along). I want to see "The Disgrace of Coraopolis" turn into a symbol of pride for the community. If you can help, please do.

After this portion of film was recorded around noon on Saturday, May 21, 2011, the bluesman Poopy Souls showed up at the train station and performed his latest song about the current situation with this historic place. A video of Mr. Souls performing the song can be seen at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eXp5UlNTY0
