@SpartanSmithCommando One of my friends just started sax and I decided to stick around to watch him ge tthe instrument and somewhat of a lesson so that is what the band director told him. So now have 2 or 3 friends who at some point played sax[the one joining the one who plays trumpet now and th one who still plays sax but he now can play different types of sax

@Stepdom11 yeah I lay the trumpet, and its nothing like that. my friend plays the sax, and hes pretty good

@SpartanSmithCommando the reed vibrates the air you produce. The air goes between the reed the mouthpiece and vibrates off of them both going back and forth and that produces the sound. Without it the air doesn't vibrate enough to produce sound because it bounces off the mouthpiece onto nothing..
