@bassownz ive seen a vid of bryan beller showing how to play the fast part without a pick, he says get your first and middle fingers, curl them up so the tips are level, and flick across the string you want to play, ive tried it and its class for playing double time :)

someone like me who's only played for 3 years cant play that fast yet with fingers. plus this is the guitar part and I have to use a pick to make the distortion sound right.
