TUMBLEWEED is a compelling story about Suicide that takes us through a journey of grief, forgiveness, redemption and love. The characters we meet are quirky, vulnerable, troubled, yet loveable.
JOHN is a troubled soul, searching for love and happiness, but to no avail. Having lived a good part of his life battling drug addiction, as well as HIV, was not a simple task. When his 14 year relationship with his partner TAYLOR unravels, John sees his future as bleak. Living as an HIV positive gay man in society was unsettling to him, which helped contribute to his ultimate demise. You could say that he lived his life on the top of two mountains....one good, one bad, never in the valley. Suicide seemed to be the answer to the gateway, not realizing the hardship it would bring to his loved ones.
In particular, to LISA, his best friend. Lisa's life suddenly changes dramatically when her childhood friend and soul mate commits suicide. She too, begins to spiral downward, turning to all the addictions she once despised and condemned John for. Suddenly, the perfect world she had created for herself in her adult life seems small and meaningless. From tragedy comes change, and it is during this journey of self discovery that Lisa finds her true identity, and through death John becomes a hero and legend to her, and all of those in his life.
