Baby Leatherback Turtles (tortugueros) being released after hatching, La Ventanilla, Near San Agustinillo, Oaxaca, México. November 6, 2010. Protected by the organization- Campamentos Tortugueros Comunitarios de Oaxaca. Protected from predators, the turtle eggs are kept on under the sand, on the beach, behind a fenced area until hatched and returned to the sea.
If you visit, be prepared to buy a T-shirt- the staff wouldn't let us go until we did.
A worthwhile cause nonetheless.
