A beautiful Chinese song from the album (Light Exquisite Feeling, 1983). This album consisted of settings of 12 poems from the Tang and Song dynasties. The music, written by composers of her earlier hits, blended modern and traditional styles of East and West. 'Light Exquisite Feeling' is sophisticated and timeless masterwork, and maybe the best album of Teresa Teng.

This is a fan-made music video. I edited movie clips from a Hong Kong romance-Wuxia film, which tells about the Butterfly Lovers (梁山伯与祝英台, literally: Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai). It's a Chinese legend of a tragic love story of a pair of lovers, Liang Shanbo (梁山伯) and Zhu Yingtai (祝英台), whose names form the title of the story. The title is often abbreviated to Liang Zhu (梁祝) and often regarded as the Chinese equivalent of Romeo and Juliet.
Often, love is so tragical and it has no chance to live here on Earth. But lovers can meet each other in 'the Pure Land' (淨土) after death, or in the next life. So we have no reason to be too sad. ^_^
The lyrics of this song is from Li Yu's poem, Yu mei ren.
Ji duo chou
(Sorrows)
(chun hua qiu yue he shi liao)
When would the spring flowers and autumn moons end?
(wang shi zhi duo shao)
How much is known about the past?
(xiao lou zuo ye you dong feng)
The east wind blew across my little house again last night,
(gu guo bu kan hui shou yue ming zhong)
I cannot bear to turn my head and gaze at my homeland in the moonlight.
(diao lan yu qi ying you zai)
The borders and buildings should still be there,
(zhi shi zhu yan gai)
Just that the ruling entity has changed.
(wen jun neng you ji duo chou)
To ask, how much worries can a person bear?
(qia shi yi jiang chun shui xiang dong liu)
They are like a river full of spring's water surging east.

Murheita
Incredibly beautiful, both the video and music, with heart felt lyrics from long ago. What an amazing presentation, Dear Teiska. Such depth and insight into the sorrows of the exigencies and tragedies of life. Many thanks for this and all the other great videos, music, you so artistically post. Blessings from Lake Texoma, Texas.
