  • Do I need to buy a power sander for prepping the car or could I sand by hand? I know it will take a hell of a lot longer but I'm just wondering.

  • @GeistMythos You could sand by hand. If you sand wet your paper will last longer.

  • hey i pulled put a majer dent from my 1999 chevy suburban but i used my drill and screw drivers i made a lot of holes but i dont know how to cover the holes do i fiberglassit or use bondo or glaze putty?and what sanding paper do i use to shape it

  • @ChevyGangman323 Welding the holes up is the correct way but you could fiberglass the back side then use body filler on the front side. Shaping is done with 40grit or 80grit. I will do a video on filling holes in the future.

  • @mcqueenpaint thanks alot let you knorr how it goes when I do it.

  • @showmethedammovie Deck lid, Roof and Hood. You don't need to use it on the good paint. Just the messed up paint and metal. You will still get even coverage. Prep the good paint like my other videos. Thanks

  • @mcqueenpaint so to be clear do I use this primer on the whole car even the good paint? Out just the exposed areas of metal? I plan to paint the whole car and want even coverage of color. Thanks for the reply man.

  • @showmethedammovie There are numerous ways to do this. But, the easier way would be to use a DA with 3M 80 grit sand paper and buzz all the loose stuff off. Don't go crazy and take it all down to metal. Just feather out the rust areas then prime with a High Build 2K "Direct to metal primer"(2 part primer that comes with a hardener). The next day Block sand by hand with 400grit then switch to 600 grit. Then paint

  • I have a similar question. I have a 20 year old 300zx.

the top of the trunk and roof is sun damage with a little bit of surface rust. The hood is chipping like a bad repair paint job. The rest of the car is ok.

I wanna give it a fresh coatof the original color. What is the best way about it.

  • @callen283 tcpglobal. com and at my local Auto Paint supply store
