  • What terror? Where is the terror? All i see is USA attacking anyone saying NO to them. Fucking Zionists

  • I agree, the old 33's are just plain worn out, the U.S. Air Force has gotten it's moneys worth out of them, but there long in the tooth. I was a former crew chief on the E-8s and boy we dreamed of having the JT8s!

  • @TheOptimod

I was working 9 years as an mechanic, then Inspector at Volvo Aero Engines Services in Bromma Sweden, then the last 9 years as an customersupport enginer, 18years iu total..Then Maint Mgr at an Swedish Airline with 5 MD80`s.

    Do you need more "proof"?

    :(

    It´s a solid engine=yes

But it still have many problems despite all SB and AD`s that keep´s falling from the PW sky each year...

    Cheers

  • @voderick Yes do continue - with factual evidence instead of ill-informed opinion or merely relaying what you've read elsewhere on the Internet. A list of incidents might be useful.

  • The -200srs engines have to many flaws to ever been installed on military A/C.

Oilsystem problems, twisted LPT shafts due to oil problems, C1 hub cracks problems, delamination in honeycomb duct.

LPT blades/platforms that don´t last according to manual spec´s.....

    :(

    Shall I continue?

  • Dad was one of the first com ops to work on J-Stars back in 89. Then taught comm after retirement to the first Air Force personnel to fly on J-stars

  • HHMMM... I am not too sure about the legality of having active duty personnel, in uniform, promoting Northrup and the JT8's. This is walking a fine line.

  • P&W has never let our country down in engine perfection. I've flown with their engines, and sailed with them in combat. Thanks to all of the people who made it happen. Proud of you all.

  • BUY THESE ENGINES!!! USAF is wasting more money by not buying them because of the cost of maintaining the old ones. Great job PW & NG.

  • Spot on, why fix anything that works so well....... great engines. Nice job guys. from serving RAF.
