Salisbury, NC Historic Town

Salisbury, NC is one of the oldest towns in NC and the birthplace of Elizabeth Dole. Daniel Boone and Andrew Jackson both lived in Salisbury for a while. My German and Scotch Irish roots go back to the early 1700's in the area. Downtown Salisbury is one big historical museum with many old houses and historical buildings.

I'll never forget how they dolled up the town for christmas every year when i grew up there. Downtown was beautiful. I miss Salisbury with all my heart.

My relatives own a very historic house in salisbury that used to be a bed&breakfast. My great grand parents who were full bloaded Indians baught the place back in the mid 1900s and it is said to be haunted.

Incredible how time changes so quickly. Salisbury was once an outpost for colonists traveling west centuries ago, later evolved with the state's textile industry, but today has become a suburb of Charlotte and/or Greensboro. I hope it can reinvent itself!
