Highlights video from the inaugural 2010 Targa High Country. Car rally conducted on the tarmac roads in the Mansfield - Mt Buller region of Victoria, Australia. Footage of all competitors captured from the following stages: TS0 Mansfield, TS3 Tolmie, TS6 Powers Lookout, TS11 Big River and TS14 Eildon.
Requests for video can be made via personal message to Roo of roowrc.

At 6:10 in the video, the fire vehicle received incorrect instructions and directions to an incident, resulting in a number of near misses on Stage 6 of the event. The burnt out car, 984 Mitsubishi Evo X, was driven by Ben Quick and Andy Larsen and neither were injured in the accident.

  • At the 3.50 mark, this is the only video I have seen of the ex George Fury 120Y.

Even the official Octagon DVD hasn't got it

Thank you for including this great car.

  • @djbal4 Not a problem. :) I'm a bit surprised too that the 120Y didn't receive more coverage. I also have footage of it from the other stages as well, once I get a bit of free time, I might upload a video of just the 120Y.

  • One of the best Targa videos I have ever seen! Amazing video quality and sound and of course the footage is well staged.. KUDOS! Would like to know what camera you are using? Listening on headphones provided a true to live feel.

  • @hothatchpa Cheers for the comments! I use two cameras: a Sony SR42 HDD video camera which is a superseded base model hard drive handy cam. And a Samsung D351i tape video camera, which should have died years ago and is probably worth well less than $50! Filming uni-student style! Using tripods however helps improve the quality. I edit in Sony Vegas and render off as a high quality wmv file, which compresses and works well with YouTube, so that helps the quality too.
