There are only 2 actual "fusion" bands, and this one of them. The other is Soft Machine (Chapter Two), and they are both rock bands. Mahivishnu and Larry Coryell ( and Chick, all of whom I love) came from jazz, but in the end their stuff was only super progressive rock . These guys came are equal parts, which is probably why they were ignored. Fantastic stuff.

... Anyone got "Happy Being Me"?
A heavily edited single from the album?
It took me 30 years to discover what this tiny clip of a song I had on my old reel-to-reel tape was!
So.. umm belated thanks Mr HUGG a very unique singer- love this track to bits!-

I was looking up Manfred Mann, wich I love, on Wikipedia While reading I read about Manfred Mann Chapter Three. I came here to find some of their music. VERY under-rated.

Yes I have to admit. This was on of the best jazz rock or fusion band. Very unknown that Manfred made this kind of stuff at that time. Thanks for posting this important milestone of fine arts
This was a chapter in Manfred Mann's long history that was just stunning. From "Do Wha Diddy Diddy" to "Quinn the Eskimo," to this?? Every musician here is an ace (no pun). "Happy Being Me," is the other masterpiece from this LP. I bought this vinyl in Milan, Italy '73. A beautiful Italian girl at an outdoor flea market with crates of lps insisted I would cherish this. I am still listening. The horn solos are fantastic. Seems our generation could adapt to any music brilliantly...even jazz.

There are only two Manfred Mann Chapter Three albums that I have ever found since 1970. Both albums were far ahead of their time and I have always thought it was Manfred Mann & Mike Huggs' best music.
