The story as it is so far:

1. ID started the true fps what it is today

2. Halo was the first revolutionary fps with the features in all current fps games

3. We have several branches

a) good stuff, crysis, deus ex, doom 3, quake, ArmA, bioshock, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Flashpoint etc.

b) half/fps stuff, this includes several games that have both fps and 3rd person view like deus ex

c) we have bullshit like COD and Battlefield bought by children who imagine that headshoting online makes them cool.

Halo Is good because it came out first and that makes it good? In my OPINION the game I liked the best is battlefield franchise. It requires skill, people on the game don't fuckin trashtalk there own godamn team. I never really had a problem with battlefield.

The problem with today's FPSes are that they're designed for online multiplayer, and become obsolete a year later when the latest game comes out.

@Markunator Both games have as much teamwork as a camels buttcheeks. Driveable vehicles? Dude, you can drive in both games, you really are just a fanboy of battlefield and i am not defending cod, i am saying that both games suck, so you don't get the whole context, so who's the dumb one here? Go play some ArmA 2 online and shit yourself a few times on the case with the battlefield disc before you talk about teamwork and realism.

Dosen't include ability to heal? In both games health regen starts after a few seconds, 1st fail, in battlefield you can revive with defibs, but it is totally unrealistic because they won't do shit if you are actually shot, 2nd fail, duh? Resupply exists in both games, have you even played them both? 3rd fail. Cod does not include vehicles? You REALLY have not played the game. COD and BF are same bullshit trying to best each other and becoming more shitty with each one released.

CS created team based FPS... why does it matter what engine it used. Halo is probably the best build FPS for a console if thats what you are getting at, but it really didnt change much if anything as far as FPS goes, and little boys don't play CS lol, they play halo or cod, basically anything on a console. Doom made way for the FPS genre, but it wasn't even real 3D, the first 3d fps i played was Quake 1, and if you played games during that time you would know that HL did trully change things.
