Bannock County Rally to Defend the American Dream -- 3/15/2011

This rally on Tuesday, March 15 -- part of a nationwide rally sponsored by MoveOn.org -- was held at Optimist Park in Pocatello, Idaho. Over 300 Union members and other supporters were in attendance, and representatives from a number of local Unions spoke to the sign-waving crowd. Showing support for our public workers, services, and institutions is important, as is showing the Republicans in the Idaho Legislature and Congress that we'll hold them accountable for their votes.

Republicans in Congress are holding the middle class hostage—proposing a federal budget that would would cut 700,000 to 1 million jobs from our communities and slash funding to support preschool and college students, pregnant women, unemployed workers, and much more. This isn't a budget, it's a slap in the face to the public workers, services, and institutions making the American Dream possible.
