This is madness, probably the best you could ever do with the YM2612 chip. Good thing many Contra games rocked in general, also in terms of music. Think Contra 3. People say the Genesis sound chip was inferior to the SNES one - but if you listen to this or games like the Sonic series, I doubt you would purposely rate the Genesis sound lower (as it sounds indeed slightly brazen, but this just makes it so damn good).

The only track in this game I even like more is "Format X". Good work, Konami.

this game kicked ass on so many levels. Genetically altered dog soldier, a robot that looks like a lady bug and packs some serious heat, crazy ass difficulty and aliens!

I bought this game brand new a few years ago, and when I played it in my Genesis, the game was actually Castlevania: Bloodlines inside a Contra: Hard Corps cartridge.
