On November 21, The Hitting Stops Here! will hold a nationwide campaign to ban corporal punishment in U S Public Schools called "21 to Go." I got them at home and at school. I guess that may be a southern thing. My mother had 5 children she brought up by herself. She would make us break a limb off a tree and if it broke we had to get another one. My 3 sisters and my brother are now good citizens thanks to that little dutch woman we called Mama.

You loose any moral high or rational ground when you attempt to use racial fears as way of stopping a practice. If paddling is wrong, then you appeal to the fact that it is wrong - explaining why if you have to. You don't appeal to some fear of black teachers paddling your daughters in some lame attempt to make people more outragged. If more whites where paddled than blacks, would that make paddling acceptable? If more blacks get detentions does that make detentions wrong?
