Flight on the B-24 WWII Liberator Bomber "Witchcraft". Inside tour and even shots holding the camera outside during flight. Boeing field, Seattle WA, June 21 2009. This plane and other WWII planes are part of the touring Collings Foundation exhibit. A P-51 Mustang and the B-17 "909" were also there. The B-17 flew by us during our flight. I also have videos here on YouTube of my flights on the B-17 and B-25. Dale Ireland

  • Nice . I rode the Collings B-17 in Burbank Ca 3 years ago to Malibu and back .What a blast. One old guy who had been on it during the war said " I would have paid $400 not to ride on the damn thing!"

  • That must have been a special ride. Thanks for posting this bird.

Unfortunately I do not... I am, however waiting on some records to come from the Army Air Corps records for his aircraft. They are in the process of moving the archives to Texas - I was told it may take up to 6 months to hear anything.

  • My partner Gail's dad flew aboard three different B-24s, each named Bucket o' Bolts (I, II, and III, of course). The first one crashed on takeoff during the first attempt to bomb the oilfields at Ploesti. The second was shot down over Yugoslavia, and the crew members made their way back to Allied territory on foot. The third survived the war intact, I think.

  • @PopePeterJames I am try to determine if this was the plane my father was on - did it go down in the Adriatic? Do you have a crew list?

  • mtwisdale - My Grandfather Philip Hoener was Navigator/Bombardier on a B-24 Liberator names "Easy Take Off" out of Italy as well. I wonder if it was the same aircraft.

  • Wounderful vid!

  • LOVED IT awesome!

  • My Wifes Grand Father, Russell Chamberlain was an Engineer on on B 24 Liberator

15th Air Force, Italy. Name of his plane was "Easy Take Off". By the grace of God he sits at the end of the table on Thanksgiving. His toast, "Heres mud in your Eye"

  • lol, Thats what my grandpa said to me when we flew on it this summer.
