Palestinian charity threatened with closure

Lloyds TSB is under attack from various Islamic organisations for allegedly trying to close the account of Interpal, a Palestinian charity that gives aid to suffering people. Various websites have a copy of a letter of complaint to be sent to Lloyds' City head office, with the name of the relevant employee. The suggestion is that the bank has requested the Islamic Bank of Britain to close Interpal's account. Another case of guilty until proved innocent, one site observes. We never comment on individual client relationships and we can't comment on our relationship with the Islamic Bank, a spokeswoman for Lloyds said. She would not say whether the bank has a relationship with Interpal. The charity has been investigated and cleared twice by the Charity Commission over allegations, which it denies, that it has links with Islamic militants. But the American authorities labelled it a specially designated global terrorist in 2003 and it parted company with NatWest last year.

@baitcat ... Hamas were democratically elected by the Palestinian people. Hamas are the legitimate government of Gaza. Far from donating the most aid (where you got that from I have no idea), Israel was firstly illegally occupying Gaza, and has subsequently devastated the infrastructure, murdered hundreds of innocent civilians, destroyed their homes and now illegally prevents aid from entering the country.

@oclandestin Everything that goes into Gaza goes through Hamas as they are the ones that over threw Fatah with violence and are now in charge of Gaza. Israel used to donate more money than anyone in the world to Gaza before they stopped as the money they gave Gaza was being used to buy weapons rather than help it's people. Hamas doesn't care about the Palestinian people. They are just hell bent on the destruction of Israel.
