@JPa311979 I've just been doing a little internet research...From what I can work out your Saw was probably made between 1972 and 1982. (Plus it's 70's orange...haha!!!)
In 1972 McGraw-Edison acquired the power-tool division of G. W. Murphy Industries, Inc.
In 1982 'Shopsmith Inc' bought the company and continued production under the name 'Benchmark'
It's a nice old Saw! Good strong motor! Better than today's modern junk...Great job on the switch!

@GarrardAT6 I found this exploring my garage attic/crawlspace when I was a kid. when I found it the old switch was missing and bypassed, so the motor ran if it were plugged in. When I was under 6 years old my grandfather used a Black&Decker saw which I also still have but I never remember this one being used. I just had to install a momentary switch the one I found in slightly smaller than the original opening but it's stable enough. The saw has a very solid feel to it, but a small left grip.

Nice saw! I have one similar.
Personally I would say 70's due to the plastic body...I have a drill from the 60's and the body is all metal...But what do I know...haha!!!
