Schedule 1 by Alex Toast

Hey everybody, have you heard what they're sayin'?
The DEA's gettin' sued after nine years of delayin'
a petition that was filed in 2002 says to schedule cannabis more appropriately, fools.
We all know the government refuses to acknowledge the studies that were done at college after college.
Though most of it, outside The States, it was done because the DEA still schedules pot as a number one.

What's a schedule 1, you say?
According to the DEA there isn't any goodness in a nug.
No accepted medical use, a high potential for abuse, and no accepted safety for the drug.

What about the 16 states that overcame the Federal gates?
They passed some marijuana bills, I'm told...
But the Feds, they don't like those kinds of meds,
and they raid the places where those meds are sold.
Now let's discuss this high potential for abuse...
It's funny, Oxycontin is a schedule 2...
So are morphine and cocaine.
I think this country's gone insane to say that marijuana's worse for you.

Now what would happen if pot weren't a schedule 1?
You say that much more research could be done?
And doctors could prescribe instead of recommend
marijuana, so go out and tell your friends!

That according to the DEA, they'd rather prescribe you cocaine
than have you smoke a marijuana nug.
They would rather you OD on Oxycontin or Morphine
because marijuana turns you to a thug...
