Wayne Cochran on Tom Snyder. The only time I've found him playing guitar on tv. Starts w/ a blues version of Old Time Rock n Roll, then gets wild. Enjoy.

  • same Wayne Cochran that wrote Last Kiss?

  • Yep.

  • Will someone please post Waynes version of Proud Mary. I've never seen or heard it.

  • As far as he knows it was never recorded. But they played Proud Mary on the Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. If anyone knows how to find it let me know. I've never heard it either but a few people say it was great.

  • he's probably the most professional rock n' roller to exist (along w/ lemmy)

  • Wayne still does sporadic reunions with the C.C. Riders , and even his church stuff is pretty rockin' , what I've heard. He seems to be at ease with secular music , but , does it only when the spirit moves him , if you'll pardon the expression.

BUT , and this is no joke , look up Jerry Lee Lewis and The Bee Gees doing "Money"....Who is that white - haired cat with the V- neck guitar ? It sure is.

  • I knew he could sing like that, but the guitar? Man, how could he ever give it up? I know he's a minister now, but couldn't he still go out and rock on the weekends? Killer stuff!

  • Nice hair.

  • Wow Wayne playing a Flying V. Awesome!

  • @bozackula Lou Gerig's disease???? That the 1st I heard that.

  • @abuiltmale Diane didn't pass away from Cancer. She passed away from ALS.

  • I wish somebody had footage of him when Jaco Pastorius was playing bass for him. That must've off the goddamn hook!

  • I have often said that the best voices weren' t the best singers or entertainers Wayne, Joe Cocker and Willy Deville had the worst voices in music. Why then were they so successful? Because they cared and believed in what they were doing. When you saw them you knew you were going to walk away awed at the performance. They left nothing in the dressing rooms. They gave it all to us. Wayne was over the top. The hair? Damn. Preach on Rev. Cochran. We still remember and still love you.

  • Man, I would have loved to have seen him play guitar in a stripped down 3 pc band. That is beyond awesome!
