Cutting the grass with my propane fueled lawn mower. Overall, it ran very well until about 5:20 where the propane canister ran low and the engine lost power while I was trying to shred some oranges on the ground that had fallen from my orange tree. Other than that, it ran pretty much the same as any lawnmower engine would on gasoline.

Special Thanks to Roberto's lawnmower for hooking me up with a mulching blade.

  • Sounds like it runs just as it would on regular gasoline! I will have to try that sometime with my lawnboy mower.

  • It has to be a 4-stroke engine though. Last I remember, most "Lawn Boy" mowers used a 2 stroke engine. You'll have to find some way of mixing oil in with the propane in this case.

  • no it doesn't match up ounce for ounce- i fugure the bottle he runs right now lasts about as long as half a gallon of gasoline, maybe a bit less.

My mower runs as long as a tank and a half of gasoline on a 14.1 ounce canister of propane. the gasoline tank holds approximately 34 ounces

  • Im so dooing that this summer

  • Oh yeah, my LawnBoy mower is a 2006 model using a 6.5 hp Tecumseh engine. Runs pretty good, not as good as my old Briggs and Stratton but it works good for now...

  • how log will a can of propane last?

  • I think i will try running my lawnmower with propane. very cool idea. two thumbs up.
