Progress also meant preserving what we already have, our natural resource and our national heritage...my father once told me,while in your youth behave in such a way that you have no regret at old age.If we cut down all our tree,we will have future regrets,we cannot reverse time,it took years for these tree to rise to its present height....

GlobalWiness, you have done a great job for Cambodia. You are the light and Hun Sen is the devil that is scared of the light.
-
This calamity is the result of Hun Sen's brightness and cleverness as declared by a bunch of Hun Sen's boot lickers (blood sucking leeches). Hun Sen cannot do anything to stop this disaster because these loggers thrust dollars down Hun Sen's throat and they choke him until he is unconscious. When he wakes up, Hun Sen vomits dollars that blind him. His eye cannot help him see any thing.

CPP = COMMUNIST PEOPLE PARTY !! made in hanoi
-
What the fuck HUN SEN is barking about forest? His corrupt officials are illegal loggers. I can tell the name Sok Ann is the the most corrupt! Chan Sarun does not have brain or care much about forests.

Trees act as windbreakers as well. Without trees you will get tornados, which is now a new phenomenon in Cambodia. Trees provides oxygen and cleans the air. They provide shelter to all kinds of wildlife. Cambodia is a small country, but rich in natural resources. However continued destruction will lead this country into a wasteland. Cambodians need to wake up, this is the only home that you have.

All the cutting have not enough good reason. I am very sad we have stupid leaders.

Don't sell out your land to the vietnamese before we had a chance to fix it up,you will regret it someday,CAMBODIA is a beautiful country,i have known my homeland and my soil,i love it more then my own life.

All these CPP thugs don't care about forest or any national resources but their own greed. They 'll destroy anything, everything as long as they making money , regardless to the rest of the population.
-
Chan Sarun's speech is so redundant. Toul Bam Kum blah blah... Please explain or give some data on why cutting down old forests has higher economic value than keeping them?
1/6/07 Global Witness' new report 'Cambodia's Family Trees' accuses Cambodia's international donors of inaction while a corrupt elite surrounding the Prime Minister loots the country's forests. See globalwitness dot org. Available in English & Khmer.
