Excellent Video for the learners

She's slipping on the water during the insweep of the pull. The arms are recovering too high out of the water than necessary, they should be gracefully running along the surface with a soft entry point. Splicing the water like this creates an excess energy output, especially taxing in the 100/200m fly. Other than that, a very exquisite technique for a former Olympian.

Thank you for posting it. Reader from Taiwan.

This is the best butterfly video I've ever watched on youtube, thank you very much, it really improved my style.. :)

To give credit where credit is due, the swimmer is Tomoko Hagiwara and the video was made some time ago. For fly, you can see it at www2.edu.ipa.go.jp/gz2/h1swim/
h1bu00/h1bu20/IPA-swm210.htm , for instance. Seems that all of Leading swimming school videos are from those videos. T. Hagiwara is a Japanese swimmer, former Olympian, specialized in IM, back and free. -

there's no way i could keep up with her.
i go way slower and only breathe like every 4th stroke.
-
@kesayo you get more pull, you go farther with each stroke.
-
Some people still teach the S pull for fly, back and free, but my coach doesnt see the benefit. for fly we do the power triangle.
-
@huyryo because it's harder and requires more coordination than the other strokes.
holy shit , that woman is flying, now i get to understand the true power of butterfly technique
