@Orklord by the way, to illustrate the "assumption to what you do not know"... one of the longest standing members of my group is part Native American (meaning genetically tested, can register as NA) and part German. Although she may "look" Native American, her spiritual urges, way of thinking, etc. all lead her to Asatru. I say, "Look to your ancestrial, indigeous religion(s) first. Then, if you've given it/them an honest try...then, look to others." I don't look for percentages or "looks".

Hey, a fellow Granite Stater! I don't live far from you either! I'm of Norse/Irish descent myself, so I've felt this natural affinity for the old gods and ways after reading stories about them as a child. Not to mention a great love of nature, animals, and the path of the seasons.
I have one question, though. What is your opinion on the Folkish wings of your religion? Asatru calls to me, but I don't want to involve myself in something that glorifies bigotry or racism.

@av949 There's a difference between folkish and racist.. One believes that people should generally, spiritually seek within their heritage for the answers first. The other just hates others for the excuse of not having to improve oneself. There's a large difference. Besides, there are a far larger number of Christian racists than there are Asatru ones. We haven't by any means cornered the market for that. Don't trust the internet and some keyboard-warrior jack-offs to give you the scoop.
