Just one of the many amusing moments to be had at Manly Local Court, the setting of Australian courtroom drama "Rafferty's Rules"!
The set-up: after attending a VIP screening of the new Australian film "Star Quality", clerk of the court Fulvio Frangellomini develops a passion for cinema and embarks on his grand project - a 'cinema verite' account of a day in the life of magistrate Michael Rafferty, with a working title of "Rafferty's Day". Despite, or because of Rafferty's reluctance to participate, Fulvio somehow manages to cobble together his masterpiece, which he premieres in Rafferty's office. The end result is a somewhat marked shift from Fulvio's original vision...
'Rafferty Rap' music and lyrics by Martin Armiger.
Damn, why isn't this show out on DVD yet ? It's a brilliant drama and John Wood is at his very best here.
