I like it, called VOE tho :P vacuum operated exhaust

awesome for people who dd or highway drive their classic. flick a switch and you can have loud angry v8 at a car show/ cruise night. flip the switch back for the drive home on the highway so you dont go deaf.

I'd quite happily listen to a honking great V8 with bypassed silencers (mufflers) all day because it's a proper engine - especially on the over run but I draw the line when some teenage oik drives past in a Citroen Saxo or Vauxhall Corsa with a piss-ant engine fitted with a drainpipe exhaust...that's just wrong

i live in utah. and it says exhaust cutouts are illegal. would this be considered a cutout?

Yes, Pontiac called it VOE.
We offer two versions of the system. Our VOE-II is practically identical to the original Pontiac design in function and sound.
Our DCE (Driver Controlled Exhaust) design is a modified version of the original VOE system, with a slightly different sound signature in the "quiet" operating mode.

and all of this is totally legal. exhaust cutouts are illegal in my state so would this pass inspection?

We are not aware of any customers having any difficulty with state requirements or inspections.
In which State do you reside?

whats the point having a muscle car with an axhaust like that. muscle cars are built to be LOUD monsters not quiet.

In the "Quiet" mode, these sound like the original GTO mufflers. They weren't very loud when they were new.
Some people like their cars louder; others prefer the stealthier approach.
And it is very nice to be able to make them quiet so you don't wake the neighbors when you leave at 5am...or come home at 3 am! :-)
